Detail InformationEdit

Kumbeshwar Temple is noted for its fantastic display of wood carvings and graceful construction. The temple is dedicated to Shiva, as indicated by the bull, facing the temple. The temple platform has two ponds whose water is said to come straight from the holy lake at Gosainkunda, a long trek north of the valley. An annual ritual bath in the Kumbeshwar Temple’s tank is claimed to be as commendable as making the grueling trip to Gosainkunda. Thousands of pilgrims flock to Kumbeshwar temple during the festival of Janai Purnima in the month of July or August to pay homage to the deity that is represented by silver and gold lingam.
