Kujalleq may be a new municipality within the southern tip of Greenland, operational from one Gregorian calendar month 2009. With 7,589 inhabitants as of Gregorian calendar month 2010, it’s the least-populated municipality in Greenland. The executive center of the municipality is in Qaqortoq. The municipality consists of the previous municipalities of southern Greenland, every named when the most important settlement – Nanortalik Municipality, Narsaq Municipality and Qaqortoq Municipality.
In addition to the realm of the previous municipalities, the south tip of Greenland was supplemental to the new body entity. The acreage stretches from the Kangerlussuatsiaq fiord to the southeastern sea-coast and Cape Farewell. The realm antecedently belonged to Ammassalik Municipality and is unsettled.
