Koufalia is a former municipality and a City in the Thessaloniki regional unit, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Chalkidona, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. It is located 40 kilometres North-West of the City of Thessaloniki, and virtually by the Axios river.
