Kot Bhramari Temple, Kausani it is also known as Kote-ke-mai, or Bhramari Devi temple. Legend corroborates the belief that Adi Guru Shankaracharya made a stay here on the way during his journey to Garhwal region. the temple serves as the venue for organising a yearly fair on Nanda Ashtami in the month of Bhadrapad August. During the festival of Nanda Ashtami, or nanda raj Jat, the Goddess, Bhramari is taken for the yatra. During the yatra, the Goddess joins the main procession at Nandkesari on the banks of river Pinder. It is located at the top of a mountain enclosed by a fort. Known popularly as Bhramari Devi or Kote-ke-mai temple, its key feature is its main deity, Goddess Bhramari, who is facing north. From the south direction of the temple, devotees offer prayers. During a grand fair held annually during August, the idol is taken out in a procession adorned by celebrations all through the surrounding regions.

BUS : Kausani is well connected by state owned bus services. Bus services connect Kausani to other hill stations like Almora, Ranikhet, Nainital and Pittorgarh. Many overnight tourist bus services run by private companies are available from New Delhi to Kausani. The bus charge is around Rs 1200.

Train : Nearest railway station is at Kathgodam. Kathgodam railway station to Kausani city is about 142 km, which can be covered by nearly 4 hours and for a cab it costs about Rs 2800, one way. Kathgodam is connected to many cities in the state.

Air : There is no airport in Kausani. The nearest airport to Kausani is Naini Saini in Pithoragarh, which is nearly 112 km away from the heart of the city. Pre paid taxi charges nearly Rs 2500 from Pithorgarh to Kausani.

Others : Another mode of internal transport that can be taken up in Kausani is the Tonga. Tongas in Kausani are horse drawn carriages that can carry around three to four people at a time. Tongas normally charge around Rs 5 to 10, depending on the distance covered through the trip.
