Konni is a small hilly town located in the Pathanamthita District of Kerala. The place is known for its numerous rubber plantations. The large expanses of green forests have become a haven for wild elephants and there is an elephant training center located nearby as well. These forests are home to a wide variety of animals. Many safaris are arranged in order to see the wild animals. Most of the hotels and resorts arrange these safaris for a price. Trekking & nature walks are a nice way to explore the region. Some of the interesting places to visit while here are the Alumvamkudi and Achankovil ancient temples & the Kumbhavaruthy falls.
