Koloriang is a small town that is located in the Subansiri district of the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The town is an old administrative center and it is set amidst lush green valleys and forests. One can see many rivers and streams near the town of Koloriang as well. The town is located at an altitude of 1040 meters above sea level. It is situated on the banks of the River Kurung. The town has a cover of snow during the winter season. The region has been untouched so far and tourism is still a developing in the town. The unexplored nature of the town makes it ideal for nature enthusiasts and those who are looking to get away from the hustle of urban life. There are many picnic spots that are located along the Ziro to Koloriang route and these are good places to visit. One can see many small villages that are located in the region as well. Visiting them can be an exciting experience and the local population is hospitable. The villages of Sangra, Palin, Deed and Talo are located nearby. There is an inspection bungalow that is located here and this is the only place that offers accommodation. The climatic conditions in the town of Koloriang can be classified as temperate for the most part. The place is located in a mountainous region.

By Air : The Tezpur Airport that is located in the state of Assam is the main option. The airport receives flights from Kolkata and Silchar. Another option is the Lilabari Airport and this place is connected to Guwahati with scheduled flights. Taxis are available from both the airports. Taxis charge around Rs 7 per kilometer for a small sedan. This is the only mode of transport from the airport to the town of Koloriang.
By Train : The closest railhead is located at Tinsukia. The Tinsukia station is well connected to Guwahati and receives regular trains. Tickets are affordable and this is the best all round option. Ticket rates from Guwahati to Tinsukia are around Rs 250. Taxis are available extensively from the town of Tinsukia.

Solung Festival ; Venue: N.A. ; Period : September ; Details: This is celebrated from 1st-5th September. It is a harvest festival that is celebrated after sowing the seeds. The festival includes traditional songs, dances and offering prayers to the Sun and Moon gods to give them a good harvest. On the last day of the festival, weapons are displayed outside the house as the locals believe that it protects them from evil spirits.
Nyokum Yalo Festival ; Venue: N.A. ; Period : February ; Details: This is the main festival of the Nyishis tribe celebrated in the month of February. It is a pre harvest festival when the locals pray to the God to give them a good harvest. The festival started with the ritual of the eldest family member to sow the first seed after offering prayers to God. Animal sacrifice is an essential part of the festival. Traditional dances, rice beer, a huge feast and prayers constitute this festival. People in huge numbers gather in a crowd and a group of dancers perform the traditional dance.
