Kinneret is a moshava on the southwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee in Israel. Located in the north of the Jordan Valley, 6 kilometers south of Tiberias, it falls under the jurisdiction of Emek HaYarden Regional Council. Kinneret was established in 1908 by the Jewish Colonization Association and took its name from the ancient Hebrew name of the Sea of Galilee and from a Biblical village located beside the Sea of Galilee further north in the tribe of Naphtali .
