Detail InformationEdit

Khavaran burial ground could be a burial ground situated in South East of Iranian capital. It had been used as a burial site for the spiritual minorities like Christians, and recently Bahá’ís, and conjointly as a mass grave website for political prisoners dead within the 1988 mass executions
On January twenty five, 2009 it had been alleged that the Khavaran burial ground had been destroyed by the regime, sparking condemnation from Iranian Nobelist Shirin Ebadi and Iran’s most outstanding dissident churchman Grand religious leader Hossein-Ali Montazeri.
The portion of the burial ground within which the political prisoners area unit buried is conversationally referred to as “لعنت‌آباد” (lanat-abad, the damned place).
