Karlskirche is a beautiful church situated close to the motorway. It was built between 1620 and 1654 according to the plans of Dr. Hypolitus Guarinoni. Its interior was redesigned in 1766/1767, The frescoes on the ceiling and the painting on the altar date back to this time – they are the work of the famous baroque painter Martin Knoller. The church was renovated from 1977 to 1988, costing 33 million Austrian shillings.
