Kamarpukur, renowned as the birthplace of great saint Sri Ramakrishna, is a holy place situated in the Hooghly District of West Bengal in India. Ramakrisna took birth on Kamarpukur soil in 1836 as the son of a poor Brahmin. Ramakrishna’s original home was situated at this village and later Ramakrishna Math was established at this place. The canal Bhutir-Khal flows on the western side of the village. This is a pilgrimage location of devotees of Sri Ramakrishna.
