Kamla Devi Mandir is a historical temple in Karmala. Kamla Devi is incarnation of Tulja bhavani Mata (Tuljapur). Karmala, which is a town and a municipal council in Solapur district. Kamla Devi Temple had built by Raje Rav Rambha (Nimbalkar Family). This temple have a magic number, which is 96. Temple have 96 piller, 96 window, 96 staircase to big well called as Barav. Shri. Kamala Devi Temple encircled by a surrounding wall, the fort has twenty-one bastions, the distance between the two bastions being 115 feet. Goddess Kamala Bhavani Temple is a Hemadpanti structure extended and renovated by Rao Rambha Nimbalkar. The temple is over a slightly raised plateau to the east of the town. By both the sides of the Goddess are placed the idols of Mahadeo and Ganapati and Vishnu and Lakshmi. In front is the homakund. The temple has an artistic spire. To the back of the homakund are three lamp posts (dipmals). From one of these dipmals could be had a bird’s-eye-view of the surrounding area. Amongst the gopuras the one over the west gate is impressive. The bell in the sabhamandap of the temple is about 150 years old and an inscription over the bell mentions it to have been hung in Shake 1740. fort has two gates, one to the east and other to the west.

Karmala is famous for the temple of Shri. Kamaladevi. There is a significance of no. 96 for the temple. The Kamala Bhavani Temple is built by Rao Raje Nimbalkar in 1727. It is considered to be the second seat of Tulajapur Tulaja Bhavani. Built in Hemdpanthi style, the temple has entry doors in East South and North directions. The uniqueness of this temple architecture is, the temple is having well of 96 steps. The temple is constructed with 96 pillars. The temple top consists of 96 pictures and 96 ‘overyas’. Navaratra festival is celebrated with great devotion. The annual festival (yatra) is held during Kartik porrnima to Chaturthi.

It is interesting to note that the only place other than Mumbai where double decker buses are in use is Solapur.
