Kakinada is a city that is located in the East Godavari District in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Kakinada is a municipal city and it has good infrastructure and is extremely well planned. The city has witnessed growth in recent years due large investment in the area. The city has a God internal transportation system and there are many buses and auto rickshaws that are available in the city. Kakinada is a port city that has a deep sea port and it is also a center of deep sea exploration and other activities. There is a small island that is called the Hope Island that is located around 5 km from the old port. Kakinada was ruled by the Nandi Kings and later the British. The city witnessed substantial growth after the arrival of the European settlers in the region. The Dutch were among the first settlers in the region and they were followed by the British. There are many signs of colonial times that can be seen around the city. There are few churches that are located in the city. Kakinada is well connected to places such as Rajahamundry, Vishakaptanam and Vijayawada. The climate is hot and humid as the city is located along the Coromandel Coast.

By Train : Kakinada has a good rail services from most parts of the State. The railway station is located in the city and it is served well by many trains that pass through the station. There are auto rickshaws that are available at the railway station and these are the best option to travel from the railway station.

By BUS : Kakinada has a deep sea port that is well connected to most of the important ports in the country. There are frequent bus services from different parts of the State to Kakinada as well. Government buses connect the city to the nearby villages.
