Kaarina is a small city and municipality of Finland. It is located in the Finland Proper region and is a neighbouring town of Turku, which is the capital of Finland Proper, therefore Kaarina is a part of the Greater Turku region. The municipality has a population of 30,924 (31 January 2011) and covers an area of 179.49 square kilometres (69.30 sq mi) of which 29.15 km2 (11.25 sq mi) is water. The population density is 205.69 inhabitants per square kilometre (532.7 /sq mi). The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
