The master-planned city is found within the previous Hawaii ahupuaa of Hanakao`o, as within the same name of the southern finish of Kaanapali Beach’s Hanakao`o Canoe Beach. In keeping with the us Census Bureau, the CDP has a total space of five.7 sq. Miles (15 sq. Kilometers), of which, 4.9 sq. Miles (13 sq. Kilometers) of it’s land and zero.9 sq. Miles (2.3 sq. Kilometers) of it (15.03%) is water.
