Jhunjhunu is a town that is located in the Jhunjhunu district of the state of Rajasthan. The town is renowned for its many beautiful havelis that can be seen in and around the place. The havelis are decorated with exquisite frescoes and this is one of the main highlights of the place. The town is an extremely old historic place and has been in existence for more than ten centuries. The place has been under both Hindu and Muslim rule and different influences can be seen in the place. Rani Sati Dadi Mandhir is a temple that is located in the town and this is an important site in the place. Many people from all over the country visit the place to offer their prayers. More than one lakh tourists visit this temple on any given day. The Pirazada Mohalla is an important mosque that is located in the town. The climatic conditions in the town are harsh and extreme for many parts of the year. Summers experience extreme heat and visiting the town during this period is difficult. The place gets some amount of rainfall during the monsoon season and the end of the monsoon season is the beginning of the tourist season. Winter days are cool and temperatures drop during the night. The summer season starts in the month of March and ends in the month of May.

Jhunjhunu is a town in the state of Rajasthan, of Jhunjhunu District. It is located a 180 km from Jaipur and 245 km from Delhi.There are many interesting places that one can visit in the town and these include forts, havelis and other old buildings. Some of the forts that are can be seen in the area are Akhegarh Fort, Badalgarh Fort and the Jorawargargh Fort. The Khetri Mahal which was built by Thakur Singh of Khetri is another interesting place to visit.

By Air : The closest airport is located at Jaipur, which is around two and a half hours away. The Jaipur Airport is well connected to most of the important cities in the country and this is the best option if you are planning to travel by air. Taxis can be hired from the airport to the town and they cost around Rs 2500 for the trip. If you are travelling during the summer season it is advisable to hire an A/C taxi as the conditions can be extreme. SUVs such as Tata Sumo and Toyota Qualis are also available and they charge around Rs 12 per km.
By Train : The Jhunjhunu Railway Station is connected by a few passenger and express trains and this is a good option if you are arriving by rail. Rewari-Sikar Passenger, Shekawati Express and Sadulpur Passenger pass through the town of Jhunjhunu. The station is connected to Jaipur, Delhi and Bikaner. Tickets from Jaipur cost around Rs 150 for a second class compartment.

Rani Sati Fair ; Venue: Jhunjhunu ; Period : N.A ; Details: The Rani Sati Mela in Jhunjhunu which is in the northern part of Shekhawati, attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists from all over the globe. The fair is held at The Rani Sati Temple. All along the duration of the fair, the faithful and pilgrims indulge in prayers in memory of the merchant’s widow who committed Sati. She had sacrificed her life on her husbands pyre in the year 1595. The Rani Sati temple has the distinction of being one of the ancient pilgrimages in the country. The temple has unprecedented work and is historic in nature which warrants a special visit to the place.
