Jamnagar is a city and a municipal corporation, located in Jamnagar district, in the Indian state of Gujarat.You can also visit the Lakhota fort during your trip to Jamnagar, and this is located in a small island right in the middle of the Lakhota Lake. This fort houses many ancient weapons including muskets and swords, and walking through this fort can be a very good experience.

By Air : Jamnagar has a major airport that is located at a distance of ten kilometres from the main city. This airport caters to domestic flights, and regular flights will be available to the city of Mumbai. Flight charges from Mumbai to Jamnagar will cost you around Rs 2900. This is a comfortable way to travel to the town of Jamnagar. Many private carriers like Jet Airways, Spice Jet, Air Sahara operate in this airport.
By Train : Regular trains will be available from the city of Mumbai to Jamnagar, as the city has a major railway station. Train charges will be cheap, and a trip from Mumbai to Jamnagar will cost you Rs 294 for the basic class of travel.
By Bus : Buses will be available from the city of Jamnagar to many other major cities in Gujarat like Surat, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Both air conditioned and non air conditioned buses will be available to Jamnagar from Ahmedabad, and air conditioned buses will charge fares of Rs 300 to 400 per trip. Volvo buses will charge more than Rs 400 for the trip. Buses outside the state from cities like Jodhpur will cost Rs 350.

Janmashtami ; Venue: Jamnagar ; Period : August/September ; Details: Janmashtami is celebrated in a big way in Saurashtra (also all over India) on the twenty-third day in the month of Shravan as per Hindu calender (August/September).
