Jamestown may be a town in, and also the county courthouse of, Russell County, Kentucky . the realm was 1st settled in 1826 and named urban center in honor of General President. By 1827 the settlement was incorporated and renamed Jamestown in honor of James Wooldridge, United Nations agency had given the land for the city. The population was one,624 at the 2000 census. in step with the u. s. Bureau of the Census, town features a total space of two.2 sq. miles (5.7 km2), all land.
