J. Willard Marriott Library is that the library of the University of Utah in Salt Lake town, Utah. It had been named for J. Willard Marriott, the founding father of Marriott International. The library building is over 516,000 sq. Feet (47,900 m2) and homes over three million volumes. The University Of Utah Press could be a division of the Marriott Library.The first library was established in 1850 once the college was supported. In 1900 the library was set within the LeRoy Cowles Building on Presidents Circle. In 1935 the library rapt to the St. George Thomas Library Building on Presidents Circle, that currently is the Utah deposit of explanation.
In 1968 the library rapt to its current location and was named for J. Willard Marriott in 1969 once Mr. Marriott contributed $1 million to the University of Utah for library collections. At the time, this was the biggest single contribution ever received by the university. In 1996 the library was rededicated once a 210,000-square-foot (20,000 m2) enlargement, which nearly doubled the library’s size.
A major renovation project began in Gregorian calendar month 2005 and ended in Gregorian calendar month 2009. The aim of the renovation was to boost the seismal stability of the building, give clearer pathways through the building, improve environmental controls, and permit for additional natural light-weight.
