The Isaac T. Hopper House, a Greek Revival townhouse at a hundred and fifteen Second Avenue between East sixth and seventh Streets within the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan, ny town, next to the New Middle body Church, was inbuilt 1837-38. It had been designed as a rowhouse, and was originally the residence of David H. Robertson, a merchandiser World Health Organization later went bankrupt. The house then became the house of Ralph and Ann E. Van Wyck Mead, one in every of four rowhouses utilized by their nuclear family.It remained in hand by the Mead family till 1870, and in 1874 was purchased by the Women’s jail Association, based by Quaker abolitionists and jail reformers Isaac Tatem Hopper and his female offspring Abigail Hopper Gibbons. The Isaac T. Hopper Home continues to serve the Women’s jail Association as a halfway house. The building was value-added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, and was selected a replacement royalty town landmark in 2009.
