The patriarch M. Wise Temple (formerly the Plum Street Temple) is that the historic house of prayer erected for Rabbi patriarch Mayer Wise.Rabbi Wise was the founding father of yank Reform Judaism. The Temple building was designed by outstanding Cincinnati designer James Keys Wilson.
The temple is found at 720 Plum Street in Cincinnati, Ohio and was designed by members of the Lodge Street house of prayer. The temple and was dedicated on Friday, August 24, 1866 and is among the oldest house of prayer buildings still standing within the us.As a daily paper wrote at the time, “Cincinnati ne’er before had seen most grandeur ironed into therefore tiny an area.
The temple is across Plum Street from the historic Saint Peter the Apostle enchained Cathedral and next to the positioning of the previous St. Paul Episcopal Cathedral, that was torn down in 1937.In 1972, the Plum Street Temple was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
