The International Quilt Study Center & depository at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in Lincoln, American state is that the home of the most important celebrated public assortment of quilts within the World. The International Quilt Study Center & depository was supported in 1997 once native Nebraskans Ardis and Henry Martyn Robert James given their assortment of nearly 950 quilts to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Their contribution became the centerpiece of what’s currently the most important in public command quilt assortment within the world.
Through non-public funds from the University of American state Foundation and a lead gift from the James family, the middle opened in its new location in 2008. The glass and brick “green” building, designed by Henry Martyn Robert A. M. Stern Architects, homes the quilts, a progressive analysis and space for storing, academic displays, and custom-crafted galleries wherever picks from the collections and special exhibitions area unit shown to the general public on a rotating basis.
