Detail InformationEdit

Indian Henry’s Patrol Cabin is AN early park Service patrol cabin in Mount Rainier park. The cabin was in-built 1915-1916 at AN elevation of five,300 feet (1,600 m) in a neighborhood of the park called “Indian Henry’s searching Ground,” that had been utilized in the nineteenth century by the Cowlitz and Nisqually tribes. “Indian Henry” was AN Indian guide World Health Organization accompanied James Longmire in his explorations of the realm. The Indian Henry’s space became a tourer destination with the 1908 institution of the “Wigwam Camp,” a tent camp that was abandoned in 1918. The realm remained as a headquarters for backcountry patrols; the cabin was the primary such facility within the park.
The cabin may be a one-story log structure with a broad porch. The cabin measures twenty five feet (7.6 m) by 15.5 feet (4.7 m). It had been placed on the National Register of Historic Places on March thirteen, 1991. It’s a part of the Mount Rainier National Historic Landmark District, that encompasses the complete park and that acknowledges the park’s inventory of Park Service-designed rustic design.
