Detail InformationEdit

The Illinois-Indiana state boundary Boundary Marker could be a arenaceous rock boundary marker obelisk set close to the tip of Chicago’s Avenue G, simply west of the state boundary Generating Plant of Hammond, Indiana. Since 1988 it’s been 159.359 miles (256.463 km) north of the Wabash.
The obelisk was made by the workplace of the u. S. Surveyor General ca. 1838. In 1988, the marker was settled 191.09 feet (58.24 m) north of its original location, however the structure continues to straddle the state boundary between Illinois and Indiana. Together of the few living structures in Chicago that predate the nice fireplace of 1871, the marker earned Chicago Landmark standing on September four, 2002.
