Ibusuki is a city in Kagoshima, Japan, that was founded on April 1, 1954. Following the incorporation of Kaimon and Yamagawa (two towns formerly belonging to Ibusuki District) on January 1, 2006, the city has an estimated population of 45,039 and a population density of 302 persons per Square kilometers (based on 2008 population statistics). It covers 149.01 Square kilometers and shares a border with Ei, a town to its north. Ibusuki can be accessed by Routes 226 and 269 and the Ibusuki Skyline drive. The city’s main railroad station is Ibusuki Station. Ibusuki is famous for black-sand spas known as sunamushi onsen.
