Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali was a sufi saint during the reign of Qutb Shahi dynasty when they has their royal palace as Golconda. He is well known for the commencement of Hussain Sagar at Hyderabad in 1562. Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali died in the year 1620 before Sultan Muhammad Qutb Shah died. The shrines at Qutb Shahi Tombs are called as Dargah Hussain Shah Wali and it was built by Abdullah Qutb Shah, the son of Sultan Muhammad Qutb Shah in the honour of contributions and noble works. Abdullah Qutb Shah constructed a tomb shrine in his memory, the dargah rises to a height of 50 feets and its a square structure built in arabic architect with a round dome. Muslims as well as Hindus visits the dargah to pay respect to the saint. The Hussain Shah Wali Dargah is open to all irrespective of religion and beliefs. You can offer your respects at the Dargah and then proceed to some other religious destinations situated nearby like the Mecca Masjid, Begumpet Mosque and the Moula Ali Dargah.

Dargah Hussain Shah Wali was built, during the reign of Qutb Shahi dynasty by Abdullah Qutb Shah in his honour. He died in 1620. Abdullah Qutb Shah built the mausoleum and shrine in memory of the revered Sufi saint Hussain Shah Wali of Golkonda. Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali was a revered sufi saint of Golkonda,. He is credited with building the Hussain Sagar at Hyderabad in the year 1562. The mausoleum and shrine at the Qutb Shahi Tombs called Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali built the famous Hussain Sagar Lake in 1562 on a tributary of the River Musi. For years, the people of Hyderabad depended on the lake to meet the water and irrigation needs of the city. However, of late the lake has become more polluted.
