Detail InformationEdit
The Hunt-Morgan House, traditionally referred to as Hopemont, may be a Federal vogue residence in Lexington, Bluegrass State in-built 1814 by Wesley Hunt, the primary wealthy person west of the Alleghenies. The home is enclosed within the Gratz Park Historic District. The Alexander T. Hunt war deposit is found on the second floor of the Hunt-Morgan House.
Other notable those that resided at Hopemont embody Wesley Hunt’s grandchild, General John Hunt Morgan, a general within the army. Dr. Thomas Hunt Morgan, the primary Kentuckian to win the laurels, was born within the house in 1866.
The House has several lovely subject field options, together with the architect window with fan and sidelights that grace its front façade. In 1955 the Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation was shaped to save lots of this home from imminent demolition. The organization fixed the house to its Federal look.
