The springboard for tourism activities within the Solomon Islands, Honiara Town is also the capital city located on the northern coast of Guadalcanal Island. Walk through the bustling Honiara Central Market shopping for flowers, handmade jewelry and crafts, especially if it happens to be a Saturday morning when you are here. Displaying several World War II memorials and sites, there are plenty of beaches and waterfalls nearby Honiara as well which are often explored by visitors before they embark on a detailed Solomon Islands tour.
