The church, which was built from 1954 to 1957, had been planned by professor Clemens Holzmeister.
The center of the great hall is dominated by the crucifix at the choir carved by Sepp Baumgartner from Schwaz in 1967. In the same year Richard Kurt Fischer from Innsbruck created the apse mosaic with the theme of the apocalyptic lamb and the divine Jerusalem. The stations of the Cross painted on golden priming as well as the Lady-altar have also been made by R.K. Fischer.
