The history of port town faculty began in 1839, once the town council of port, Maryland, U.S., passed a resolution mandating the creation of a male highschool with attention on the study of English and classical literature. The port town faculty was opened within the same year with forty six pupils beneath the direction of Nathan C. Brooks, a neighborhood professional and author. It’s the third oldest highschool within the nation. In 1850, the council granted the college the authority to gift its graduates with certificates of completion. A shot to expand that power and permit town faculty to confer Bachelor of Arts degrees began in 1865, however all over unsuccessfully in 1869.The school underwent demographic changes following the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling within the 1954 Brown v.
