Hammil is Associate in Nursing unorganised community in Mono County, California. It’s set nine miles (14 km) west-northwest of White crown, at Associate in Nursing elevation of 4593 feet (1400 m).
The Hammil brothers (William, Hugh, and Robert) homesteaded at the positioning in 1870. The Carson and Colorado Railroad arrived in 1883 and named the settlement once them. Hammil’s communication was handled by the Mocalno, that operated from 1915 to 1937. Mocalno was named by adding “cal” for Calif. Within the Mono (the county’s name).
