Norfolk County could be a rural city-status single-tier municipality on the north shore of Lake Erie in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. The seat and largest community is Simcoe. Norfolk’s history has been closely related to that of the neighboring Haldimand County. Urban center was initial created as a county in 1792. In 1800, Haldimand was shaped from some of urban center. The 2 counties remained separate till 1974, once they were united because the Regional Municipality of Haldimand-Norfolk.
