Haflong is a town and headquarters of Dima Hasao district in India in the state of Assam. By Air : The nearest airport is located in the town of Shillong that is located in the nearby state of Meghalaya. This airport is located close to Haflong Hill, and flights can also be taken to the airport in Guwahati. Flights will be available from Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Imphal, Tezpur, and Agartala. Flights from Delhi to Guwahati will charge fares of Rs 4200 to 9062.
By Train : Haflong Hill has own railway station named as Haflong Hill Railway Station which is located in northeast of the town. It connects Silchar, Lumding, Maibong and Jatinga to Haflong Hill.
By Bus : Buses will be available to Haflong Hill from almost all important destinations in the region, including Golaghat, Newgong, Dimapur, Diphu, Guwahati, and Jorhat. Buses will be mainly run under the Assam State Transport Corporation and these buses will be rickety and not very smooth. Travelling through buses can be quite hard for people who are not used to it. Bus tickets will be readily available, however. Buses from the city of Guwahati will charge fares of around Rs 290 to 300.

Behdeinkhlam Festival ; Venue: Haflong Hill ; Period : July ; Details: One of the most important and colourful festivals in the state of Assam, Behdeinkhlam Festival is held for three days during the month of July at Jowai. The meaning of the festival signifies ‘driving away of evil by wooden sticks’. It is connected with a sequence of religious rituals. People dance on the streets and promote friendship and unity among each other by beating drums and playing pipes.

Both males and females takes part in this dance festival, usually two young men on either side of a girl, connecting arms together, dance merrily in step.
Chad Sukra ; Venue: Haflong Hill ; Period : April to May ; Details: This festival is celebrated during the mid of April or early May every year by the Haflong Hills people. The locals of the state believe that a farmer can start sowing the seeds on his land after the completion of this festival. The festival is observed as to safeguard the crops of farmers from all forms of the natural calamity.
