Detail InformationEdit
Gurudwara Manji Sahib was built at this place after the sixth Guru, Guru Hargobind Singh visited the place on his way to meet Mughal monarch, Jahangir. Gurudwara Manji Sahib also features a small pool and a well that is supposed to have been built during the stay of Guru Hargobind Singh. According to the myth of the shrine, the villagers of Majri protested for the water scarcity in the region. Addressing their matter of perennial water scarcity, Guru asked the inhabitants to excavate a well. Owing to this, the well-known pilgrim centre is also called Baoli Sahib. The place was transformed in to a Gurudwara in the year 1764 when Dal Khalsa distributed the region of Ambala to Sardar Mehar Singh of Nishananwali Misl. The Gurudwara was further reconstructed by Maharaja Hira Singh of Nabha during 1871-1911.
