Gurney House, Nainital on Ayarpatta Hill, is a famous spot thanks to the popularity of Jim Corbett. Jim Corbett, initially a hunter, who later turned into a conservationist and began writing on conservation of wildlife especially tigers, was born in Nainital. He took to spreading awareness among the people on nature and its conservation. Jim Corbett used to reside in the Gurney house during his tenure at Nainital. This house has now been converted into a museum. This house-turned-museum has the Corbett memorabilia on display. The museum throws a light on the life of Jim Corbett. Deodar, pine, oak and rhododendron make up the hillside surrounding the house.
