Gulf Tower is one amongst the most important distinctive and recognizable options of downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The tower is known as for the Gulf Oil Corporation, that was one amongst the leading transnational oil firms of its time, systematically ranking among the most important ten companies within the country. On June 13, 1974, a bomb was detonated on the twenty ninth floor of the Gulf Tower. The Weather Underground Organization took credit for the attack claiming it had been in protest to Gulf Oil’s involvement within the oil made regions plagued by the Angolan War of Independence.
