Gsteigwiler is a municipality in the Interlaken-Oberhasli administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. Gsteigwiler is first mentioned in 1333 as Wiler. Gsteigwiler lies in the Bernese Oberland at the foot of the Schynige Platte in the valley of the Lutschine River.
Gsteigwiler has an area, as of 2009, of 7.02 km² (2.71 sq mi). Of this area, 1.58 km² (0.61 sq mi) or 22.5% is used for agricultural purposes, while 4.57 km² (1.76 sq mi) or 65.1% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.31 km² (0.12 sq mi) or 4.4% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.1 km² (25 acres) or 1.4% is either rivers or lakes and 0.47 km² (0.18 sq mi) or 6.7% is unproductive land.
