Jan Skala was a Sorbian poet and a canvasser. In 1944-45 Jan Skala who was dispossessed from Berlin, lived in village – Dziedzice. In Berlin he cooperated with Polish Union in Germany. Nazis treated this activity as anti-German, due to that fact, Jan Skala was under constant observation of gestapo. He died in tragic way in January, 1945. He was shot by the soldiers of Red Army and burried on the graveyard in Dziedzice.
