Granum is a town in southern Alberta, Canada. It is located at the junction of Highway 2 and Highway 519 west of Lethbridge. Granum is located on the edge of the prairie and the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. Looking west one can view the mountains of Waterton Glacier International Peace Park in the south, the Crowsnest Pass in the west, and the mountains near Calgary in the north. With only 415 residents, Granum is the least populated town in the province of Alberta. Granum is a community with a rich history. The town’s original name was Leavings – where cattle were loaded onto trains to leave for eastern markets.
