Detail InformationEdit
Established by Canadian fur dealer Confederate soldier Grant, and dilated by Bos taurus baron Joseph Conrad Kohrs, Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic website commemorates the Western Bos taurus business from its decennium origin through recent times. The park was created in 1972, and embraces one,500 acres (6.1 km2) and ninety structures. The location is maintained these days as a operating ranch by the park Service. The ranch was selected a National Historic Landmark on Gregorian calendar month nineteen, 1960.
Conrad Kohrs ventured into the Sun watercourse natural depression west of Great Falls craving for a lot of lea. He was affected by what he saw during this pretty natural depression. It gave the impression of a cattleman’s paradise. The waters of the Dearborn and Sun Rivers were sweet, sparkling, and clear. The watercourse bottoms had lush grassy meadows and therefore the benchlands rolled on each side of the rivers.Kohrs brought in many thousand steers from his ruminant Lodge ranches to plump out on the wealthy grasses of the Sun watercourse natural depression.
