The metropolis library situated in downtown metropolis, Michigan and additionally includes seven branch libraries throughout town. The library system has a hundred and seventy full and part-time workers and includes a place of roughly 197,000 people. The metropolis library was supported in 1871 and was situated inside the metropolis hall. In 1904, the library captive to the Ryerson building that served as a permanent home for the library.
The building was a present from arts and education good person, and native son, Martin A. Ryerson. In 1967, the library expanded to quite double in size. The addition was named the Keeler wing, in honor of a $1.2 million gift from microphone and Blessed Virgin Ann Keeler. In 2001, renovation began that forced the library to control out of a close-by warehouse. The library was able to pull back to 111 Library St. NE in 2003.
