Glyka Nera is a suburb in the northeastern part of Athens, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Paiania, of which it is a municipal unit.
The Hymettus mountain is to the west and southwest. The nearest Athens Metro subway station is at Doukissis Plakentias subway station. It has access to the Attiki Odos (numbers 6 and 63), the Hymettus Ring and Lavriou Avenue. The Attiki Odos runs to the northeast and east while the Hymettus rung runs slightly south of the centre. A tunnel is to its northwest. It is located W of Rafina, NW of Sounio and Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport and about 12 km E of downtown Athens.
