The first settlers of Glovertown appeared within the early nineteenth century. In 1845, twelve individuals lived there. By 1857 there have been solely ten and by 1862 there have been solely eight. Then in 1869, the population jumped up to eighty and Glovertown began to become a thriving center for the workplace, boat building and lumbering industries. By 1891 there have been 288 residents and by 1911, the population had full-grown to 408. Separate settlements had by established by that point within the Saunders Cove to Northwest Arm space. Presently these area unitas are a part of Glovertown.
