Glossa older forms: Paliourio and Paliourion is a village located in the northwestern part of the island of Skopelos in the Northern Sporades. The population in 2001 was 1,006 for the village and 1,195 for the municipal district. The town’s elevation is 200 to 300 meters. Glossa is located about 10 km northwest of Skopelos (town) and about 25 km coach or automobile with the island’s only important road.
