The Glenwood Bridge may be a bridge in urban center, Pennsylvania, that carries Pennsylvania Route 885 over the river. It started construction on June 3, 1958 And was completed in 1966 to exchange an recent decayed unsafe iron bridge inbuilt 1894 that carried urban center Railways trolley car tracks and traffic on a picket deck. The initial bridge was engineered by the Penn Bridge Company of Beaver Falls and carried trolley car tracks between urban center and Homestead.
It was later sealed with wood to permit traffic to share the crossing. Permission was given by the general public Utilities Commission on November eight, 1962 for urban center Railways to convert trolley car routes fifty five East urban center via Homestead and Braddock and ninety eight Glassport to public utility, because the replacement bridge planned didn’t incorporate trolley car tracks. Trolley car service fifty five across the bridge over on July 4, 1964.
