The Glass Bowl could be a bowl in Toledo, Ohio. It’s primarily used for football, and is that the home field of the University Of Toledo Rockets. It’s settled on the school’s Bancroft field, simply south of the banks of the Ottawa watercourse. Acknowledged for its mix of previous and new, it retains the normal masonry round the field throughout all its expansions.
Originally called University bowl, it absolutely was inbuilt 1936 at a value of solely $335,000 as a Works Progress Administration project. Originally the natural seating bowl command eight,000 in 2 sideline grandstands. There was a grass hill at the south finish of the bowl, and at the open (north) finish of the bowl were 2 stone towers (still standing), that served as makeshift housing for the team in its early years.
Following war II, the bowl was restored, with several glass components. Owing to this, and also the city’s concentration on the business, the bowl was renamed the Glass Bowl in 1946. South endzone stands were further in 1966, and more enlargement came following Toledo’s 35-game win streak from 1969 to 1971, delivery capability up to eighteen,500.
