Gita Bhawan is an institution that works for the preservation of Hindu epics and vedic literature. There are many discourse halls within the precincts of Gita Bhawan. Tourits can also stay here, free of cost, for the place has over 1000 rooms based on the principles of an ashram. An essentially vegetarian fare is served here at amazingly low prices. The old Banyan tree within the precincts is believed to have seen the likes of Swami Ramtirth meditating under it. The place is the ashram of Guru Shri Ram Sukh Daas Ji. Twice a year in this ashram, people gather to read the Ramayana together.
