The George Washington|United States President|President|Chief Executive} Birthplace monument is in Westmoreland County, Virginia, United States. Originally settled by John Washington, Saint George Washington’s great-grandfather, United States President was born here on Washington’s Birthday, 1732. He lived here till age 3, returning later as a young adult.
At the doorway to the grounds, currently maintained and operated by the parkland Service, could be a Memorial Shaft obelisk of Vermont marble, that could be a tenth scale duplicate of the memorial in Washington, D.C.
The United States President Birthplace monument, wherever Popes Creek joins the Potomac River, is representative of 18th-century Virginia tobacco farms. A Memorial House with eighteenth century furnishings is receptive guests. The park’s farm buildings, groves of trees, livestock, gardens, and crops of tobacco and wheat, represent the childhood setting Washington knew.
In the twenty first century, the Monument is a component of the parkland Service’s current efforts to interpret historical resources.In addition to the Memorial House, park facilities receptive guests embody the historic birthplace home space, room House, hiking trails, and picnic grounds. Within the room House, clothed re-enactors demonstrate candle- and soap-making.
