Riga Gallery buys and sells works of art. It organises art exhibitions, issues art catalogues and provides consultations for the formation of private and corporate collections and interiors, as well as consultations for issues of expertise of works of art.
Riga Gallery was established in 1992. It is located in a historical building opposite the National Opera and the Freedom Monument. It is the largest private gallery in Riga. There are two exhibition rooms on the ground and the first floors of the gallery, in total 200 sq mtr. There, one can view a large collection of Latvian modern painting, graphics, prints and photos.
Among the artists represented by the Riga Gallery, there are A-list celebrities of Latvian art: artists who exhibited pieces at the Latvian pavilion of the Venetian Biennale, such as Ilmārs Blumbergs (2001) and Ojārs Pētersons (1999), modern art representatives with stable international experience such as Leonards Laganovskis, Oļegs Tillbergs, Kristaps Ģelzis, Jānis Mitrēvics and Andris Breže.
Works of recognised artists are also exhibited – Ieva Iltnere, Ritums Ivanovs, Frančeska Kirke, Līga Purmale, Barbara Gaile, whose manner of writing and style have become the “trademark”.
