Funchal is a modern, sophisticated, rejuvenated city, nestled in between stunning natural amphitheatre, in Madeira Islands of Portugal. It’s the capital and also the largest city of the island, which derived its name from the fennel growing here. Discovered in the year 1421, King Manuel I, had bestowed Funchal the status of a city in the year 1508.
