Formerly home of the samurai, Fukuoka is the largest Japanese city, situated on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu, Japan. This city today, is the terminus of the famous Shinkansen Line bullet train and is well-known for its gorgeous women, ‘ramen’ and its popular Daiei Hawks baseball team. The famous Kushida Shrine in the city, holds 47 turrets of various sizes and was founded in 757, is a must visit spot. The Shofukuji Temple, a prime city attraction was the first Zen temple to be built in Japan, which is a site worth visiting.
